Animation Updates!
Or the year of animation independence...
The Starboy
My first foray into writing for animation started when I wrote the script for a short called The Starboy!
It’s an indie film by creator Wayne Carnegie about a British kid who reluctantly visits his grandmother in Jamaica, learning how to be responsible while making friends along the way. I loved Wayne’s 3D work and the style of his characters were so adorable. Having a Jamaican background I also immediately related to the tradition of flying overseas to visit the family!
It’s been great watching this film grow from an idea to a full fledged short film. I even got to present a preview of it at the Animation Show ‘n Tell in Ottawa this year and answer questions which was pretty awesome!
The final film is now available to watch online on Wayne’s Facebook page. It will also be making the rounds at more film festivals next year! Let me know if you enjoy it!
